Two Medicine Trails Trail Map

For Montana an essentially flat trail through the woods to Rockwell Falls over nearly three and a half miles the elevation gain is 376 feet. There are two ways to get to Rockwell Falls both involve the South Shore Trail. The first one starts just past the boat dock at the Two Medicine Parking lot, the second costs money as it means taking the boat to the end of Two Medicine Lake and starting back down the lake on the South Shore Trail from the far side. This way involves more elevation gain of about 350 feet but does give you a view of Two Medicine Lake by boat and along the trail for about 3/4 of a mile. Shortly after starting on the Two Medicine Pass Trail, the trail leaves the forest and the view to the west of of Sinopah Mountain. Sinopah is visible from then parking area for Two Medicine. The trail reenters the forest and it is about a half mile to Rockwell Falls. Depending on when you hike this trail the underbrush alongside the trail can be five feet tall or more, on the Two Medicine Pass section of the trail particularly were there is the potential for a view of Sinopah. Rockwell Falls is really a series of falls with the largest being at the bottom. After Rockwell Falls the trail to Cobalt Lake starts to climb out of the valley floor. It is my goal this year to make it to the continental divide above Cobalt Lake. This is about 3 and half more miles and over two thousand feet in elevation from Rockwell Falls.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things
that you didn't do than by the ones you did do.
So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream.
Discover."
Mark Twain
