A slow hiker's guide™ Glacier National Park Wildflowers

Apgar Campground during the summer is a short walk to Lake McDonald. It is essentially at the end of the lake so the views are very dramatic down the length of the lake. Similar to those seen on GNP web-cam but a little further to the east.

Approximate driving distance via Going-to-the-Sun Road: West entrance: 2.3mi St. Mary entrance: 47.4mi
Apgar Campground is the only campground on the west side that is open year round.
Apgar Campground Entrance is located across Apgar Loop Road from Lake McDonald. Located about half way between GTSR and Apgar Village.
The campground area is heavily wooded. The picnic area serves as the winter campground.

Canoe and kayak rental in Apgar Village. Food, Ice Cream, snacks and Visitor Center in Apgar Village
